We build technologies and engineer solutions that will terraform Earth at a large scale. The road to net-zero will not be an easy path, as inflationary pressures persist. We are relying on mature, scalable systems that will smoothen this transition to a low-carbon future.

Our technology offerings

Viridas Carbon

We are revolutionizing Direct Air Capture by redesigning the process down to the fan design. Our redesign focuses on maximizing the volume of air treated. Our process reduces facility size 70x and increase processing time by 700x. This leads to cost cost reduction by 5-10x.

Viridas Desalination

We are reimagining sustainable desalination within the context of the circular economy framework. This is accomplished by commodifying brine to enhance desalination recovery. This allows us to recylce water and achive Zero Liquid Discharge.

Viridas Lithium

We are accelerating lithium extraction by reducing processing time down to less than a week. Our process is water positive and cheaper than Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE). This allows us to scale producation and help governments meet 2035 & 2050 goals.

Viridas Wastewater

We are modernizing wastewater treatment to deal with micropollutants. We are introducing an additional treatment phase to handle PPCPs, microplastics, and forever chemicals. This will be crucial for boosting environmental protection efforts.

Viridas Energy

We are advancing Long-duration energy storage to match the round-trip efficiency of Li-ion batteries (>90%). We leverage novel materials to squeeze out every bit of energy stored. This will be essential for widespread adoption of renewables.

Viridas R&D Labs

Our technological innovations stem from rigorous research efforts. All advancements are protected through intellectual property and trade secrets. We collaborate with research institutions to ensure public desimination of our work.

Our story

Viridas Technologies started in the research labs of the United Arab Emirates University. Studies on desalination waste treatment unveiled promising applications beyond their initial scope. The technology behind the process could be modified for carbon capture, lithium extraction, and wastewater treatment. This prompted our founder to establish Viridas Technologies. The name 'Viridas' itself is derived from the Latin for ‘to make [something] green.’ This reflects our foundational commitment to environmental stewardship.

Ahmed is the founder and technology expert at Viridas. He has setup all the various technologies provided by Viridas. He is currently working on piloting a novel DAC setup (for Viridas Carbon) and a non-thermal desalination unit (for Viridas Desalination). Ahmed has a background in chemical engineering with an MSc from UAEU and BSc from TAMU.

Thaier is the co-founder and currently occupies the head of business development. He is working on the Direct Air Capture technology. Thaier is responsible for transforming Viridas Carbon from an idea to an actual business. His job involves connecting with investors, identifying potential viable partners, and building market strategies. Thaier comes from an engineering background with an MSc in both Chemical Engineering and Engineering Management.
